Finding inspiration through others

Look to a person who is in good shape and do as they do. <SERIES>

Here is one thing that you will notice.

  1. They PLAN ahead

If you are failing to plan you are planning to fail – a wise man once told me.  Regardless of what you’re doing, preparing yourself in advance gives you the best chance to accomplish your goals. Your approach to health and fitness should be no different.  Ideally it’s best to prepare for your upcoming day by making all your delicious healthy food ahead of time. This will ensure you do not eat bad foods or skip meals.  Pack your gym bag and shoes and leave at the door or in your car the night before so it’s there staring at you, reminding you that a workout  is in the plan for that day.  Seems pretty simple, but you’d be surprised as to how many people will skip out on a workout because they forgot their gear!   Another small thing, fill up your water bottle and have it with you on your drive or ride into work and refill for your work day, several times a day.

So again, plan ahead – be prepared and give yourself no excuses on getting closer to a healthier and happier you.

  1. They are CONSISTENT

Keep on Moving Don’t Stop

Fit People Keep Going.
Everyone falls of course at one time or another, so remind yourself that this is a journey, not a race. To be really fit, you have to make it part of your lifestyle. It’s not a short term program you stick to for a month or two and rebound back to your old ways (and old body) and then…. you’re “done”. You’re never “done”!

Fit people are also consistent, but realize there is no such thing as perfection. Forget eating perfectly all the time, eat well 90% of the time and you will look and feel great. There is no magic workout routine, no exercise fad that changes everything in a week. There is only consistent healthy eating and exercise. Slip ups happen. They aren’t the end of your fitness journey, unless you let them be.

So keep on moving, don’t stop and you will too discover how great “fit” really feels.

  1. They eat MORE and they eat LESS

Stop Starving! Eat MORE!  More often that is.

Eating only 1 or 2 meals a day – which can be even a challenge for some people – If you are one of the 40% of Canadians skip breakfast and don’t fuel their body until well into their workday, you may struggle with weight issues due to the fact that you don’t eat well or often enough throughout the day.

What Works Best for You?

It all comes down to what best fits your schedule and how your body responds best. Some people prefer 5 – 6 small meals per day and some are quite happy with 3 “square meals”

More important than the meal quantity or frequency is to look toward foods that can help muscle-building and fat-burning.

Here are some basics if you want to see results:  eat a complete, balanced diet, watch food portions, use proper supplementation – make small adjustments to match your goals.  If you are feeling good, have optimal energy and not walking around hungry all day, chances are you are on the right path.
