Last night we had the pleasure to go see the newest Disney on Ice show, PRINCESSES & HEROES.My daughter and my niece Dylan’s eyes lit up from the time we sat in our seats at the Rogers Centre.
They were so excited to see all the Disney characters and especially all the Princesses and Heroes like Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White all make their wishes come true in this collection of celebrated tales wonderfully told through artistic skating and acrobatics The show was kicked off with Mickey, Minnie, & Tinker Bell introducing Aladdin. The Show was truly a hit for adults and kids with all the amazing skating, effects, and colourful display!
With the help of the magical pixie Tinker Bell, the Disney Princesses embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Jasmine discovers a whole new world with Aladdin after meeting her unlikely hero in the marketplace. All the kids loved the monkey Abu and Alddin swinging from the rope and of course the princess Jasmine. When they started singing “A whole new world” it was really lively and everyone started singing along. Jasmine & Prince dance with lifts & flips that is simply breathtaking.
Snow White gets all the kids excited and so do the cute seven dwarfsas they sing, ” Off to work we go and got the crowd clapping and got their spirits high.”
Then, Belle comes skating out from Beauty and the Beast and of course all the little girls were literally jumping out of their seats clapping and singing. It was the cutest thing!
My daughter Iyla loved Ariel as she explored the world above the waves with Prince Eric. She was on the edge of her seat to see if Ursula’s curse would be broken so she can join her one true love and Ariel can remain part of his world.
When Sebastian the crab sings the, ” Under the Sea Song” all the bubbles come floating from ceiling and all the sea creatures make the show really come alive and even the adults including myself was dancing in my seat. It made me want to be on vacation in Jamaica instead of cold Toronto!
For the second half of the show, Sebastian yet again get the crowd going. Ariel and the Prince skate and do some fancy footwork.
Then, Tinker Bell comes out and sprinkles fairy dust on the Princess from Princess & The Frog and the fast paced music really picks the show up.
Prince Philip defeats the evil fire-breathing dragon Maleficent in a race to save his true love Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora. The wicked witch was all bright neon green and her neon pink dress just lights up the rink. The neon dragon that pops out is realy cool and had amazing fire displays.
A suprise was Goofy coming out and introducing Cinderella. All these recognizable Disney characters make the kids so excited even the little ones. The carriage that Cinderella comes out on is stunning.
Another favourite part of the show was with Jasmine and Aladdin. This show really had the kids in awe and jaw dropping high flying jumps, daring acrobatics, beautiful skating and all the other amazing Disney on Ice characters like Rapunzel, Tiana, Cinderella, Belle and Snow White who also find happiness in this beautifully imagined ice show. The show was so colourful with all the lights, spinning, and dancing. It really brought back nostalgic memories of my own personal experience with all of my favourite Disney Characters. Cinderella & Snow White are such classic favourites and I recently started reading this stories to my daughter so she was obsessed!
It was such a Terrific Show! My niece and my daughter were pretending to be princesses even before we got to the show and both wore crowns to the show. Many of the little girls were dressed up so it made it feel like a really special experince and created beautiful memories.
The girls are already asking when the next show is!!! Do not miss this show, two thumbs up:)
